Name: Nyru (pronounced Nye-Roo)

Build: Slender and lean with long legs (for a female) and well distributed muscle so she is not stocky. Her paws and muzzle are small, as are her ears. She was built more for endurance than strength. Her tail is long and full and helps her maneuver very well during hunts and patrols.

Personality: 

Shy: She's no extrovert by any means and is definitely an introvert. She doesn't tend to speak unless spoken to, but will happily listen or give her advice if asked. A decent comparison for her would be to that of Fluttershy from MLP, as lame as that sounds (though not quite as anxious around others). Shy, quiet, soft-spoken, and loves nature.

Timid/Submissive (as a pup/juvenile): Nyru was born into a pack that was close-knit and caring. She understood her place and began to work on her confidence, but it was shattered the moment she lost her home and family. As she ages, she will learn she is capable of more than she ever imagined and will figure out how to take care of herself. As long as those wounds remain fresh, however, she is fearful of others and their intentions. 

Intelligent: She is a very good problem solver and uses her brain more than her brawn. 

Passive. Nyru is extremely non-aggressive. She cannot be verbally pushed to engage in violence and will only fight back if she is physically attacked (even then, she will only attack long enough to fend someone off so she can run away). She can be hurt with words, but she would rather run away and disengage instead of lose her cool. 

Patient. She does not have a temper and seems to have endless patience. That's why she is good with pups and wolves who normally rub others the wrong way or have issues controlling their own tempers/anger. 

Wise: In her later adult years, she has learned from her past and knows how to use it to shape her future. She is good to go to for advice or an unbiased opinion and is always willing to lend an ear or kind word when necessary. 

Empathetic: Nyru follows her heart and tries to see both sides of every situation. She often plays devil's advocate for this reason, though her empathy can be used against her if she is not careful. 

Rational: As an adult, Nyru is not reactionary and is very level-headed. She is very much "the rock" in emergencies, as she learned through experience that optimism and understanding are more productive and useful during dark times. Once the danger is over, however, she typically lets out all of her feelings and fears at once in private. 

Maternal and Caring: It was believed that Nyru would one day be more of a caregiver than a warrior. She loves pups and caring for the elders of the pack. 


Pre-Group History: Nyru lost her home and family to a violent bear attack that was coordinated by a rival, neighboring pack. Her family was small and young and her Alpha always did what he thought was best. Others argued that they should leave the territory rather than risk an attack by the rival pack, but the Alpha refused to move so soon after Nyru's sister, Dahlia, had given birth to a litter of pups. She was instructed to stay within the den and care for the young at all times as a precaution. Her family knew she was not as strong as her siblings and would be more useful in such a position. The night of the attack was bloody and merciless. Her family was decimated quickly by the strength of the bears that were led to their den. The rival pack was not far behind and attacked those whom the bears did not already kill. Nyru was one of them. She fought them off with all her might, but it was not enough. She was dragged from the den and her sister's pups were slain. She managed to escape and fled into the forest when one of the bears returned and attacked her attackers. She howled into the night for what seemed like an eternity before finally returning to the den in search of life. Her decision to leave her pack's territory did not come lightly, but she knew she could not stay. She fled that night with no plans for her future or place to go once she had confirmed she was the only survivor of the attack. 

Post-Dark Ages: No longer the wolf she once was, Nyru now knows what it is like to lead. In Faust's absence, she managed to find a strength and resilience inside of her she never knew she had and she is forever changed as a result. While still quiet and polite, she holds a new air of confidence and strength. Her eyes no longer find the ground when someone speaks to her and she does not fear opposition. Never again will she be a victim of intimidation. After her near death experience during the war, she has realized her purpose and strengths and is determined to let go of her past self and embrace the wolf who had once been the leader of a Rebellion.

With all that said, Nyru suffers from mild PTSD and frequently suffers from horrific nightmares (typically pertaining to her kidnapping, torture, and Faust's death). She is currently working on building up her weight and muscle after months of malnutrition and starvation. Her fur is growing thicker just in time for winter.

Other: 
        - Nyru is incredibly fast. What she lacks in strength and cunning, she makes up for with speed and agility. She can outrun just about any wolf, as running is the only activity she has truly engaged in and enjoyed doing. Because she is not good at anything else, I feel I can claim she can outrun any wolf if necessary. This ability also ties in to the info stated in the next bullet.
       - Nyru is NOT a fighter. If you attack her, she will either try and run (see above -- you won't catch her) or she will just be attacked. She's non-aggressive and nearly impossible to push to violence.
