Kiriban at 10,000 pageviews! (screen-cap required)

Alrighty, we're all moved in to our new place! I can't even believe we didn't move in to a two bedroom when we first came here...The difference in the amount of space is uncanny. I mean, we actually have a hall now. xD And a computer room! Just a few more boxes to unpack and we'll be settled.

On the topic of me getting a new pet...I did! And he's a little, reddish-blonde Chihuahua beauty named Spartacus (I just call him "little dog" or "puppy," to be honest)! He's just the cutest damn thing ever and I love him to bits. Here's a link to a collage of puppy pictures I put in my scraps, for those who don't watch that section of my gallery: [link]

Annnnnd. Since I have a bit more free time now (though I am starting that one class next week), I decided to open up my trades again. I'm only going to take 3 for right now, so send me a note or leave a comment if you're interested!

As many of you have probably seen, I've posted some examples of my sculpture work. The reason I did this (aside from wanting to put them up in my gallery for all to see!) is because I wanted to offer sculpture commissions for any who may be interested. Now, after talking over with some friends about how much I should charge, I've come up with what I think should work as far as pricing goes...

Standard 5"-6" inch sculpture of your character standing/seated/lying down, starting price: $40
--unpainted: $40
--painted: $50
--highly-detailed: Additional costs vary based on complexity (multiple limbs, wings, complex clothing, etc.)
Example (unpainted): Colby - [link]

--larger than 5"-6" inches: Talk to me.
Example (unpainted): Shiravaku - [link]
**for a sculpture like Shiravaku, it would cost about...$60 or so. This is only because he's so detailed and is a bit larger than Colby.**

I had some trouble deciding on how much to charge for these guys, seeing as I've never done sculpture commissions before. I tried to base it off of how much the materials would cost me and how much time I would spend on a char. Believe me when I say, a lot of TLC goes into making these guys. Colby easily took me a good 10 or so hours to make, give or take. Shiravaku took 12+. You guys would have the option of having them on the wooden stand or not for no extra cost. And no, it would not be any cheaper without the stand. n_n; Sorry. If you folks have any questions about my pricing or whatnot, don't hesitate to ask! I'm even open to suggestions, too, if you feel something is off.

Last but certainly not least, my surprise for you all. Ever wanted a little mini bobblehead of your character? Well, look no further. I've figured out a way to make little bobbleheaded sculptures! They're better than normal sculptures 'cause...well...they bobble their cute little heads! The going rate for a standard bobblehead (like Quaylak) is $25. Not as much as a normal sculpture because they'd only be about 2"-3" inches tall, but it isn't easy getting their heads to bobble and there's still the cost of materials. So I figure that's a fair price. Here's an example of an unpainted bobblehead, for those who've not seen Quaylak just yet :[link] She will be painted later today, after work, most likely. $25 would be for a painted bobblehead, not unpainted.

Alright folks, that's about all I have for my updates right now. I will make one more update on trade/commission info once I get it, plus a possible update when my Quaylak bobblehead is painted. Hope all is well with everyone else! :D

I have a few in mind!

:bulletred: Contests (to enter or already entered)

Not sure if I'm going to enter contests anymore, unless they really catch my eye and I want to try my hand at them.

:bulletred:Requests
I don't do them. I prefer being fair and mutual with the transaction. Or, unless I'm getting something out of making art for someone, I probably won't want to do it.

:!: :!:-----------:!: :!:

If anyone should want to use any of my stuff for personal reasons (be it RP, webpages, or whatever), then let me know before you do so! Chances are I won't mind, as long as I get my due credit. No changing the copyright and saying it's yours and no altering of my pics. Art theft seems to be an appropriate reason to me to drag a perpetrator out into the middle of the street and pummel them unrecognizable. So please don't do it to me or any other artists out there.

I'll do a trade with you if you want. I just have to finish up a few commissions first.

Hmm... A sculputre of my character? I might be interested. I have some questions though? Not sure about shipping the item? Also is there a limint on the content? In other words nudity and such? Sorry if this isn't the place I should ask. Let me know if I should post here or in notes. Thank you.
Hey! Posting questions right here is just fine. If someone is browsing my journal and has the same question, then it saves me the time of posting the same answer!

As far as shipping is concerned, yes, the item would be shipped to you for you to own. I'm going to ask some other sculpture artists how it is they ship their pieces, just to get some helpful hints. Naturally, I'm going to find the safest and most secure method of shipping so it would arrive to you in tact and undamaged (since I know the postal service can be screwy and careless).

As for the content, tasteful/clean nudity is totally okay by me. I've seen some pictures of Falcon (mainly by Miss Lady), most of which he is nude, so I would assume that a sculpture of him would be no different. It's kind of part of his character anyway.

Hope this helps you out a bit and thanks for your interest, H-Falcon! That would be so cool to do a sculpture of your char, he's so kickass. Say hi to Lady Owl for me!

I'm trying to get more into being a concept artist/character designer. I have lots of sketches I've done recently to show to studios and potential employers. Would you be interested in seeing these sketches?
