DotW: Closing of the Year

Lessons from Magnus: On a particularly clear and beautiful night, Magnus decides to celebrate the winter solstice by teaching Shiloh and her traveling companions about a very popular custom within Riverfell: dancing. Wolves use strips of animal hide, vines, and other long bits of material to perform in dances. Each wolf holds an end and, depending on the strength of the material used, can even lift their partners off the ground in more elaborate moves. Dancing promotes bonds between family and friends and is always present at every special event. Tonight, Shiloh and Magnus celebrate another year of survival -- though both are grateful to be able to celebrate with one another, they are also happy to have the company of Aydan, Keeva, Rue, and Alice.


This is a lovely song I listened to while adding finishing touches to this piece! It really fits both the image itself (give it a minute to get to where I imagine all these wolves dancing!), not to mention the message of "closing of the year." It's one of my fav holiday songs. <3

I probably spent 20+ hours on this MSE collab, and yeah, that was WITH the help of the wonderful YazukyYuu, nakaiii, SilverPocky, and warpugs! D: I'm very slow. They all inked and flat-colored their own characters while I did the initial sketch and everything else. I had no idea how long this would end up taking me, but I'm pretty happy with how it came out. I wanted to "finish strong" for 2017, so what better way than busting ass on an art piece that a bunch of my DotW buddies helped me with? Thank you guys for your help, we TOTALLY have to do this again very soon!
